ACT Reviews 2022-2023 Season

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Director Pauline Nevell Choreography Callan Tennant & Jennel Unsworth Children’s Choreography Christy Coleman & Louise Bailey Musical Director Stuart Peacock St Joseph’s Players St Joseph’s is another group which has had to wait in the wings for some time to bring their community pantomime back on stage. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is a relative new pantomime title which was given the St Joseph’s treatment. The script was by society legend Doreen Johnson. “A tale as old as time” was told by fifteen characters who the audience loved to cheer and boo at. A lot of new faces made up the production team. The fabulous set was designed and painted by Helen Loynd and constructed by Terry McCabe. The technical departments worked their magic creating mood and atmosphere. Costumes (in house) were a credit to the society. Belle’s iconic yellow ball gown had the wow factor. Just one niggle about character presentations, body art needed covering.
