CINDERELLA Director: Janet Featonby Choreography: Tracy Cartwright assisted by the company Music supplied by backing tracks Antrobus Players Written by the director this was a completely new adaptation for the modernday audience. Pantomimes with no magic but all the characters were included. Instead of the Fairy Godmother we were introduced to Cinderella’s Godmother who, through humorous manipulation, (no enchantment) got her goddaughter to the Royal Ball. Once again the “Last of the Summer Wine” constructed and painted an excellent set with S.M. Jonathan Storey and the entire out of the spotlight team boosting the production. Again Debbie Sutton and the wardrobe team created an eye catching set of costumes. Tracy Cartwright played the screwball Godparent guiding the audience thought all the twists and turns of the story, with lots fun on the way. Tracy is an accomplished actress, her experience shone through which gave credence to this new revamp of this classic fairy-tale. For this version the ensemble was made up of the mice and cats of Hardup Hall all played by the junior members of the company. It has to be said that their performances were delightful. Never mind the ‘ahhhhh’ factor, they were integral to the plot and acted out
