Buckley in their debut roles as Dandini and the Prince rsepectively captured their individual characters. They displayed good stage presence with plenty of positive energy. Their character development was noticeable. One of the hardest roles to play in pantomime is the “Silly Billy” role. The performer has to work the audience continuously. The young Mason Spencer worked so hard to deliver the character of Buttons. Again the character development achieved was high, and with more experience he will become a strong member of the group. Those seasoned players, the Millard brothers, Geoff and Harvey, took on the ugly sisters. They came into their own in the kitchen scene aided by a duck. There was plenty of good humour and fun banter which had the children in the audience giggling. Gillian Roberts, as the Baroness, John Essex as the Baron and Stacey Dawber as Fairy Godmother engaged the audience. Casey Saunders, another debut performer as Cinderella, carried the role. Casey expressed the sadness of her character. The challenge of the role never fazed her and will ensure that this experience will be a firm rock on which to build her theatre training. The enthusiastic audience took the opportunity to meet the fairytale characters on stage after the performance. This showed how much they enjoyed their venture into Pantoland.
